New Year…Fresh Start 2020
I just love the closing of one year and the unfolding of a fresh new chapter. I kick it into high gear around the house, putting away holiday decorations, cleaning out closets and toy boxes. We donate a ton of stuff every January. It’s the perfect time to clear the clutter and minimize everything around the house. I’ll admit, though, it’s a REAL struggle for me to stay up until the ball drops on New Year’s Eve. I’m a girl who LOVES her sleep! A lot of lofty goals are made during this season of transition, and I know I’m not the only one who sets personal goals for the New Year. I have found that it’s best to only set a few easily measurable and attainable goals. In fact, one year I jokingly made a New Year’s Resolution that was “To exercise a little bit.” I kid you not….I really dislike exercising.
3 Personal Goals I Have for 2020
- To try new foods and recipes that fit within our newly adopted lifestyle. (GF DF Plant-Based Pescatarian if you really need to label us.) I just love cooking and experimenting in the kitchen. I got a few new cookbooks recently that fit our lifestyle, and I can’t wait to dive in and discover some good family favorite recipes!
- To focus more on moving my body, incorporating resistance bands and some strength building that fits within my allowed activities. I’ve slacked ever since the weather turned colder. I’m limited with what I’m allowed to do, so I really need to make it a priority to do those things I’m allowed…so that I stay strong and healthy!
- To be more intentional in my moments with all people. Those within my home, and those in my circle. Technology has a way of diverting our attention from what really matters. This December I’ve stopped doing Instagram stories as much, just so I don’t have a phone in my face as often. It’s been kind of nice. I’m sure I’ll find a good balance in this area as the year progresses.
